Okay, it’s now 2015 – where are our hover boards? Well, perhaps we didn’t get cinematic promise, but here is something that goes one step farther – a skateboard with no board.
Instead you have two rings that you step into, and an outside edge provides the rolling surface to get you moving. And by moving I hope I don’t mean sudden faceplant, but rather a smooth ride on your flat plane of choice. According to the video below, it’s mostly like skating, but instead of a toe stop you should be able to step out of them in a pinch. I think that’s the theory, anyway.
