The Museum Of Endangered Sounds

It always amazes me how much sounds can bring back old memories. Now, I’m not talking just about music (although it definitely does the trick), but everyday sounds. You know, the sound of a cash register from your favorite coffee shop, or the new message alert from an obsolete messenger app. These sounds meant something to us at one point, and they are ingrained in our psyche.

But thanks to the efforts of Brendan Chilcutt, these sounds are not lost to ages past. Brendan has created the Museum of Endangered Sounds, just for your nostalgic pleasure. The interface is pretty slick, just click the icon and the sound loops until you click it off. Now, excuse me, I have to go listen to the sound of a rotary phone just one more time while I try to find a Star Trek repeat on TV. Well, at least some things never change.
