Bomo Robotic Baby Carriage

The occupation of the earth by our robotic overlords has begun.  And, as is the usual way of manipulating the masses, they are doing it for the sake of the children.  Only thing is, this time it is rather cool.   And potentially very fun.

Bomo has a $780 baby chair that has enough robotic know-how  to cruise around your place, following you while avoiding furniture, pets, toys, and other items in a typical residence or place of business.  The device will run about six hours on a charge, and the upholstery is easily removable for cleaning.  This is important if you forget and take the child on a wild chase while rushing on a particular project.

The unit will adjust from a sitting position to a reclined one, allowing the child to rest while being robotically shuttled about.  It can also rock the child to sleep, using gentle side to side motions. 

One of the coolest things, though, is the manual mode.  You can forgo the robotic mode and let the child control things from an accelerator pedal and a steering wheel, all from the safety of a padded baby chair.  Now we're talking. Teach junior while he's young how to take those corners.  The robotic device will still avoid obstacles while under manual control, keeping things safe.  (But make sure that there are no open stairs around if you are on an upper floor!)

Better yet, if you have multiple children of that age, get several and have a race.  You could even draw a big circle and place the buggies in the middle - first one out of the circle wins (but please no wagering). Just be sure to put it back into robo mode and pull up the tape circle before Mom finds out.  This will work only until the infant starts speaking - until then you can explain the "vroom vroom" sounds the baby is making on television. (But seriously, safety first.)
