Force Dynamics 301 Motion Simulator

At some point motion simulators are going to be part of the home video gaming market, it is just the natural progression of technology from motion controllers and vibrating joysticks that are common today.

Well, if you have a spare $15k,  you can make the future happen now.  The Force Dynamics 301 is one of the smallest full motion simulators on the market, and it is small enough to fit in a lot of rooms without requiring much modification beyond clearing out the previously believed to be practical furniture.

The 301 features motion provided by a 3 ball screw based linear actuator giving 18 inches of travel ( enough to make your stomach sink) and 500 lbs of peak thrust ( and it could sink fast).  The unit also features a raised center of rotation that

provides superior onset cueing compared to existing motion systems, and reduces parasitic forces that cause motion sickness.

The claim is that less than 1% of the Force Dynamics 301 riders  have experienced motion sickness.  An interesting ideal, but maybe everyone was just too busy playing to take the time to be sick.
