Yankee Stadium Now Has The Big Screen Bragging Rights

Yankee Stadium now has some bragging rights, and that is the biggest HD display in the world of sports.  The screen measures a very impressive 110 feet by 60 feet.  This gives it a perimeter of 340 feet. which means it would take longer to run around the screen than it would to run to first base.  Nice.

Dubbed Diamond Vision, the HD video display shows a 1080p picture powered by 8,601,600 bright LEDs.  It even does tricks, with options like picture in picture and scrolling updates.  Now, the astute of you may remember that there are actually bigger displays out there, but this one is unique in that it is a true HD display.

Of course, the giant display could be an instrument of torture if a few game moments go awry, so maybe they can come to an agreement as to what they will try to avoid showing on the BIG screen.  At least we can hope.

  1. Not to mention it is a great way to get the big ads in front of the attendees, which makes money back for the park. Love the action replay, though.
