It looks like 3M is getting on the pocket projector bandwagon, and they are being serious about it. The MPro110 is set to actually launch September 30th in North America for $359.
A review by trusted PopSci found the projector to be about what you would expect from a first generation unit Brightness was an issue, but there is no way these small projectors are going to compare with a standard projector. Then again, there is no way you are going to get the other projector to fit in your pocket and run on a battery, and don't even get me started about bulb life and associated cost.
So, the warning is out – they are cool, but you need a decently dim place to watch the show. Personally I think that pocket projectors are extremely cool, and way past due.
(As a side note, do you think there is one guy out there with freakishly large hands that makes a bundle by hand modeling with new electronics? Just wondering.)
