The Reaching for the Out of Reach project at Cursive Buildings involves taking old New York Public Library digital photographs and making them appear 3D within a gif by timing the display to shift between the left and right eye images.
Some people get the image right away, others get sick focusing on the attempt, so I would suggest approaching with caution.
The stereo vision project is breathing new life into older photos, and it is getting people interested in the period. Cool, fun and educational.
