It looks like this time around Xbox 360 console owners will not have to pick up the Final Fantasy leftovers from the other consoles. Square Enix has confirmed that the Xbox 260 will get the Final Fantasy XIII game on the same day as the PS3 does. The announcement was made today at the Microsoft E3 press briefing, and fans of the perennial series have been jumping ever since.
The same day release is true only for North America and Europe launches. But given that the Xbox has not fared so well in Asian countries that can be considered expected. The PS3 would no doubt like to have an exclusive on the game to gain momentum for its sales, but it goes to show that in the dynamic environment of the video game industry things can still be surprising.
