Flash Runtime Licensing Getting a Free Ticket to Ride

With a nod to what seems the logical progression of things, as part of the Open Screen project Adobe has lifted the licensing fees for the mobile distribution of the Flash runtime.  This should help to bring more mobile devices in line with the PC browser expected experience. This also opens up another avenue of choice for the smaller developer as they endeavor to build products that work for multiple families of mobile devices (for the most part). It is virtually a win-win, with one glaring exception: Apple has stated that Flash will never be part of the official iPhone platform, something they may have to retract in the future.  I think I'll be watching for the new licensing text to wash up on the Beach.

Aloha from the Beach,
