Greg Chaffins The circumnavigation attempt by pilot Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan in her Lockheed Electra 10E plane ended in mystery on July 2, 1937, and there have been no answers since. Many theories have come and gone but so far there has been no proof.
Instead of answers, the disappearance has simply passed in legend. But now a pilot claims to have proof of her plane, and he found it right on Google Earth.
Justin Myers had watched a piece on Earhart’s disappearance, and decided to go look for himself using the tools at his disposal. Approaching things as a pilot would (which he happens to be), Myers decided to investigate one of the leading theories on her, and that led him to Nikumaroro Island.
After a bit of time searching, Myers is now convinced he found proof of the wreckage that remained on the island as of 2022, the date of the Google Earth images.

But I would suggest taking things one step further and hopping on Google Earth yourself to see what you can find. Just think, you can actually explore the island and possibly discover Amelia Earhart’s plane yourself.
