It Starts With Getting Off This Rock
Before humanity could explore space, we first had to solve one major problem:
Earth refuses to let us leave.

At the center of our cosmic neighborhood sits the Sun, a gigantic sphere of hydrogen and helium constantly performing nuclear fusion.
It works by smashing hydrogen atoms together so violently they fuse into helium, releasing enormous amounts of energy in the process. Basically:
The Sun is one giant controlled nuclear explosion held together by gravity.
And that giant fusion reactor provides the light and heat that powers life on Earth, drives our climate, and keeps the solar system from being one extremely cold and depressing place.

The Moon Is Weirdly Important
Orbiting Earth is the Moon, our giant rocky sky roommate. It may seem like decorative nighttime scenery, but the Moon actually:
- controls the tides
- stabilizes Earth’s tilt
- affects our seasons

we are not remotely the main characters.

Nebulas Are Space’s Recycling Centers
Nebulas are giant glowing clouds of gas and dust that often serve as:
- star nurseries
- dead star remains
- or cosmic recycling centers
New stars are born inside nebulas, and dying stars often create them when they explode. Meaning nebulas are where stars begin and end. They’re basically the universe’s maternity ward and graveyard rolled into one colorful floating cloud.

The Universe Itself Is Expanding
As if space wasn’t weird enough already, scientists discovered the entire universe is expanding. That means:
- galaxies are moving farther apart
- space itself is stretching
- and the cosmos keeps getting bigger
