The Navy has a new tool to help with water borne threats. The aptly named Voyeur helicopter mini-drone is designed to be launched from a sonobuoy tube, where it patrols for threats and eventually sinks itself into the ocean when its job is done.
The Voyeur, made by Lite Machines, tips the scales at only four pounds and stands 27 inches tall. The mini-drone allows for covering an area much more effectively than standard helicopters.
The design, which apparently uses a pair of foldaway counter-rotating helicopter blades, allows for easy transportation and deployment.
