I like modern earPods as well as anyone, and more than once I have used them as I fall asleep. But waking up hours later with a throbbing ear pain because the pillow has driven them into your ear canal is just no fun. The Openhagen SleePods (notice what they did there with the name) seeks to rectify this with earbuds made for side sleepers.

The units are truly designed for the side sleeper, with an ultra-low profile that sits flush in your ear. But the unique shape doesn’t come at the sacrifice of features. You’ll find hybrid active noise cancellation that works with passive isolation to block out noise, even your own snoring. At least you’ll get a good nights sleep.
There is no app required to make these headphones work, the Bluetooth 5.4 is designed to connect fast and stay connected. The audio maintains a 30 ms or less latency, so if you do watch videos as you fade out everything will stay in sync – no more movies that look like a bad language dub.
There is a four microphone array to handle audio, and case charging is handled by the usual USB-C. You can find the OpenHagen Sleepods on their website for $99.
