The open source Neo FreeRunner cell phone, from Openmoko, has beat Android to the market and is now available. The unit runs a custom Linux OS, and sports such features as 128MB RAM, 256MB flash, 2,8" 480×640 touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi,aGPS, and motion sensors. However, it does not support 3G data at this time.
The Neo FreeRunner is priced at $400, and you can find it at the Openmoko store. Imagine, having a phone/pocket computer that is not tied to the whims of the telecommunications industry – way cool.
