Philippe Starck has created an efficient turbine design that will crank out 20% – 60% of the power an average home needs under the right conditions. The cost is said to be around $633.
Starck’s turbine is a sleek design, and would not be quite the eyesore usually associated with residential wind power (although I think any kind of wind turbine is beautiful by its own nature). The best news of all is that the turbine is real, and will start shipping in September.
