There are times when you are out and you really need a printout. It happens. But finding a hookup and getting a printout is not an easy task.
Now there is a solution that definitely puts the focus on "mobile". The Planon Printstik Portable Printer is only 1″ x 10.75″ x 1.9″, making it an easy fit in almost any case. The self contained printing solution contains a cartridge of 20 thermal sheets, and print speed is about 3 ppm. The rechargeable printer will put out about 40 sheets on a full charge. Connectivity to the printer is done via USB or Bluetooth, which is perfect for small portable devices such as smart phones and UMPCs.
Obviously the printer is not designed to be a replacement for a standard printer, but for use in the field it could be extremely handy. The cost per page on a thermal printer tends to runs a bit higher than otherwise, and this is no exception.
