Sanyo PLC-XL51 Projector Requires Only Three Inches Distance from Wall

One of the biggest problems with projectors is not the technology, but rather the distance from the wall (the throw distance) required to make a big picture. Sanyo has not only addressed that issue, it has knocked it out of the park,  with their PLC-XL51.  The projector requires only a 3 inch throw to create an eighty inch display. Yes, three inches.

The projector features 1024×768 resolution, 2,700 lumens of brightness goodness, SD card support, and a PJ Network Interface that allows remote control via a web browser.

The PLC-XL51 incorporates a large aspheric lens and high-precision aspheric mirror to magnify images without distorting them.  Top and bottom keystone correction handles issues associated with the short throw and wall alignment, and finally included software can correct color for projection onto non-white surfaces.

The impressive PLC-XL51 is slated to be available this September, at a hefty price of $3,995.
