The IDEC Corp. has built a rather sophisticated dog bath that allows you to bath your furry friend without the negative effects of shampoo. The device is a microbubble generator, and the negatively charged microbubbles attach to positively charged organic substances. This process, after rinsing, leaves the doggie all shiny and clean.
Interesting to note, the name for the unit is "Wan Love You", a play on the Japanese word for the sound a dog makes, which is "wan wan" instead of the western "woof woof".
I am curious as to the effectiveness of the unit, but if it works well can we expect commercial versions for people too? It should eliminate the problem of soap drying out skin, so it could be very applicable for very young children and adults alike.
