Soon to be Heard in Hospitals: Xbox 360, Stat!

Microsoft and the non-profit organization Companions in Courage (which is dedicated to supporting families with children who are dealing with life-threatening medical conditions) are teaming up to bring hundreds of stand alone Xbox 360 kiosks to Children's Hospitals across the country.  Before the critics start, it might be interesting to note that the kiosks will be loaded with family type games as well as G-rated movies and a special version of XBox Live that allows patients in other hospitals to connect and play with each other. While I am sure that there are plenty of people who see this as an affront to child development, I think that anything that allows a little escape and companionship to a suffering child is a great thing, and I have to say Kudos to Microsoft and Companions in Courage for doing so.

Aloha from the Beach,
