The collective masses have definitely developed a love affair for portable media devices, and often it is handy to hook up said portable media device with external speakers. Of course, external speakers tend to have a requirement to be carried, so they are not always handy to have around.
The Reebok NXT Speaker Backpack (£70) simplifies this requirement by incorporating speakers into a black backpack, which allows you to carry the speaker and the rest of your gear together. (Of course, you could carry any speaker system inside of a standard backpack with your gear, but it would not look as cool). The speakers are powered by a couple of AA batteries, so don't expect a super subwoofer, but it should deliver an adequate sound for most listening applications. Connections are made by a standard 3.5 mm audio plug, so most things, including mp3 players, portable DVD players, and laptops, should have no problem hooking up to the speakers. Just don't forget the AA batteries.
