Halo Fan Film Series Looks Amazing

Move over Hollywood – today's technological tools are finding their way into some very talented aspiring movie makers, and the product they are creating is actually quite good. Take, for example, the trailer below for the fan film series HellJumper.

As far as i can tell, the first movie/episode is coming out January 2012, and I am looking forward to see how it all comes together. The series will focus on one ODST member from his enrollment to the covenant wars at the time of Fall of Reach. The series is not going to pull any emotional punches, since according to the website,

Through his experiences, we’re going to expose you to an amazing universe full of devastation, grief, affection, and most importantly, hope.

Given the trailer, I already know they can inject a lot of emotion to go with the nicely done special effects – something I think Hollywood has a lot of trouble with. Until the first episode launches, be sure check out the film website, where you can meet the cast and check out behind the scene information.

Halo

Halo is a multi-million dollar science fiction video game franchise created by Bungie and now managed by 343 Industries and owned by Microsoft Studios. The series centers on an interstellar war between humanity and a theocratic alliance of aliens known as the Covenant. The Covenant worship an ancient civilization known as the Forerunners, who perished in combat with the parasitic Flood. Many of the games center on the experiences of Master Chief John-117, a cybernetically-enhanced human super-soldier, and his artificial intelligence (AI) companion, Cortana. The term "Halo" refers to Halo megastructures: large, habitable ringed structures, similar to the Orbitals in Iain M Banks' Culture novels, or author Larry Niven's Ringworld
