Mini Suites for Airline Travel

 jal_seat2_061908

Flying on the new Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts could be an experience much nicer than flying typically conjures up, thanks to Japan Air Lines (JAL) and James Park Associates.  The new "JAL Suite" are basically small individual suites featuring upholstering in gray leather, armchair with ottoman that extends into a bed, 19 inch TV, storage area, and device power hookups. You can even have a visitor to dine with you by using the ottoman as a seat and sliding the movable table to the center.  Nice, but I am pretty certain this is not a coach ticket option.

No Power Remote Control Ends Dead Remote Issues

NoBatteryRemote_060608

SMK Corp unveils a TV remote control that never needs batteries. At the TEXPO 2008 in Shinagawa, Tokyo SMK shows their prototype unit, which uses a trigger powering a small flywheel that provides the 20-30ma needed to control the TV.

Operation of the alternative power remote is quite simple. One pull of the trigger changes the channel, tow pulls turns the TV on or off.  The volume is controlled by pressing a button and then pulling the trigger.

The No Battery Remote Control is not slated for production at this time, but SMK, a leading remote control manufacturer, is one company that could make it a reality if they decide to go with the concept.

Fujitsu F706i is a Waterproof Cell Phone with 1 seg TV Tuner

nec_f706i_060308

The majority of us now carry cell phones, and the majority of the Earth is covered with water. Now, putting those two facts together, it would lead me to this conclusion – having a waterproof cell phone would make sense. Here at the Beach it makes excellent sense.

The Fujitsu F706i Cell phone is indeed waterproof (down to 3 meters), and it has a 1 seg mobile TV tuner as well. This means that you can watch TV underwater, if so desired (and you know you want to, at least once). The F706i also offers a 2 mp camera (another great feature to use underwater),HSDPA connectivity, and a micro SD slot. Oh, and it also works as a phone.
