Here is something that one could use at the Beach and still have their hands free for picking up finds. The UKP300 Tactical Head Camera is currently being used by the U.K. police for surveillance operations, but it would be a great fit for everyday use, including sporting activities. To record the action all you have to do is look the direction you want, although I imagine that you would want to limit your sideways glances while wearing the unit. The Head Mounted Camera includes a built in microphone, and gives a 80 deg view of the surroundings. Then you just have to couple it with a pocket DVR and you can record your life as it happens.
