Remote Control Cooler Perfect for the Effort Challenged

It is a hot day on Nerd Beach, and the sun is beating down like a scalding hammer.  The desire for liquid refreshment is overpowering, yet the deck is too hot to touch with merely mortal flesh.  Unwilling to sacrifice the bottom of my bare feet, yet with thirst screaming in my brain, I know something is going to have to happen.  I start to panic, then realize that this is the remote control cooler.  I reach out, grab the remote, and soon refreshment relief is beside me, without succumbing to pain or injury.

If you like something to drink without having to actually go get it then the RC cooler from RC Cooler from Solutions might be perfect for you.  It will set you back about $70, holds a 6 pack of your favorite beverage, and the remote is good for about 30 ft. The range and capacity might work fine if you concentrate your needs on going across the deck or into the next room (where hopefully someone may be kind enough to do a refill).

Eco Friendly Portable Crank Charger Great for Portable Devices

It is another peaceful sunny afternoon on Nerd Beach as I work diligently on my Pocket PC, communicating with a scientist on the mainland about a new discovery I wanted to post on.  I am miles from the Beach House, and suddenly I get the "low Battery" indicator on the device.  Instead of having to cut the discussion short as the gracious lady goes into detail I whip out my hand crank charger that I pack with my on these jaunts and crank up my device's battery.  Without missing a beat I continue the discussion and have a very exciting new technology piece to share with my readers.

We have all done it, been on a trip away from our chargers with our wonderful devices and the battery goes flat.  The eco friendly hand crank charger would be a wonderful tool to have at that moment, provided that you are more concerned about function than flair.  With a few minutes of charging you could get a lot of different portable devices back up and running.  The unit sells for $39, and is available from National Geographic.

Nerd Beach Adds Twitter As Social Bookmark Choice

Here on the Beach we like to stay in touch with our compatriots in gadgetry as much as we can, and Twitter has been helping us do so.  So, to facilitate other Twitter users in sharing any articles they find on Nerd Beach we have recently added Twitter as a choice on our social bookmarking section, taking the user to their Twitter home for convenience.  We hope this is a help to all of the Twitter fans that visit our spot by the Ether Sea.

LED Message Pen

It is a warm night after a beautiful sunny day on Nerd Beach, and as we walk across the sand I spy a rare Sea Turtle that has came up on shore.  I am afraid to make a sound, but the person I am with, unaccustomed to the Beach as I am, does not see it.  Not wanting to speak and possibly scare off the turtle, I fish in my pocket for the handy Message Pen, enter a quick message and show it to my friend, “Sea Turtle”  while pointing.  We both watch the spectacle for a moment before it goes back out to sea, happy to see a rare moment.  God thing I had my Message Pen.

As gadgets go most of us have probably seen the clocks and other devices that feature a spinning line of LEDs delivering a message.  Now that same technique has been shrunk down to fit on the head of a pen.  Brando now has the LED Message Pen, which will set you back about $15.  You can display your own message up to 20 characters.  It would be nice if it had a keyboard for faster entry, but then I guess it would be a very clumsy pen.

Aloha from the Beach,
