Virtual Flying Using a Bike and Google Earth

GoogleFlyingBike

Okay, here's how you do it. You take one (1) bike, one (1) Google Earth Flight simulator (built in to the Google Earth download), and a lot of creativity , along with a used bike, and presto you are riding a virtual magic carpet exercise bike.  The video shows the bike in action,  and it looks like a hoot. The pedals control the power, the handlebars serve as the steering (logical) and a couple extra levers serve as the rudder and elevator (apparently).  A SunSPOT, a 3d wireless controller that speaks java,  serves as the connection to the PC.  Put it all together and you have some fun.

JVC Everio Camcorder Offers One Touch YouTube Upload

jvceviroyoutube-sb

Online video in general, and YouTube in particular, is slowly working its way into our everyday activities, and JVC knows a good market when it sees one.  The new JVC Everio model GZ-MS100 is aimed directly at the YouTube crowd, and features a one touch button to make the YouTube posting as easy as possible.

When the button is pushed the camera will automatically limit the recording to the maximum YouTube video size (saving from video edits), and once docked with a host PC another couple clicks puts the video out there for the world to partake.

The camera has some other strong features as well, such as a 35x optical zoom and a battery that gives you over 2 hours of charge. The camera will be available in June for $350. One word of caution, though – be careful which videos you hit the YouTube button with, since you might not want everything posted to the world.

Averatec All-in-One PC Delivers Single Box Style

averatec_aio_pc

When a PC, complete with monitor, washes up on the Beach I expect it to consist of more than one box.  So you can imagine my surprise when the Averatec All-in-One (AIO) showed up from the Cyber Sea. Strongly favoring the latest iMac, albeit black, the AIO is a windows based PC that comes in a roughly 22 x 2 inch monitor box.

The AIO is no slouch, being powered by a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 CPU. The list of goodies that come in the single box include a 320gb drive, 2gb of DD2 RAM, nVidia GeForce 8400 graphics, and a built in 1.3 megapixel webcam, perfect for communicating with your online cohorts. The standard OS is Vista Home Premium.

The amenities include a wireless keyboard and mouse.  For the multimedia users (and with a design this sleek it would be at home in about any setting), a MCE remote control is included for those times you would rather be kicked back and watching instead of working.

The Averatec All-in-One (AIO) is set to sell for around $1299, and it should be on the market in a couple of months.  Just be sure that you do not confuse it for a special edition black iMac when you pick it up.

Luxury Pet House to Pamper Your Pet

luxury_pet_house_051008

Korean-based Autoelex has exactly what you need to pamper your best friend. The Luxury Pet House has everything a pet needs to be comfortable , including temperature and humidity controls, infrared and embedded heating, and antibiotic air. It even has solenoid valve controlled medical dispensing, and carbon filter deodorizing.

The whole luxury pet condo can be controlled by a PC, allowing you to easily fine tune Fido's digs. Great, but I wonder if they have a size to fit a Great Pyrenees?
