Touch screens are becoming a standard when it comes to personal computing, and Dell has upgrade their XT Tablet with multi touch capabilities. The tablet also gets a 128gb SSD option for $649. The good news for existing XT Tablet owners is that multi touch capabilities are only a free download away.
Multi touch capability allows users to manipulate images with their fingers, not unlike manipulation on the iPhone. The video shows this in action.
Asus is getting a strong challenge in the netbook arena this August, thanks to Dell's mini netbook. The Dell 8.9 inch netbook offers a 1.6ghz Atom processor, 1024 x 600 display, 3x USB, SSD,integrated webcam, WiFi and more in a 2.2 Pound package, all for only $299. The launch for the small netbook is being placed in August.
While Asus is currently the market leader with its EEE PCs, the pressure from MSI and now from Dell in a lower priced but well featured machine will no doubt be good for the end consumer.
