The Kamikaze Flat Toaster

Here is an item that begs for caution in its use, a Fagor TP-2006 X Flat Toaster. Obviously there are easier ways to toast a piece of bread, but I can see how this could be useful.  For example, you could have it warming up some leftovers without the spongy feeling a microwave leaves sometimes, or you can slap a tortilla on it with toppings of your choice.  Just don't get carried away and try to flip that tortilla over, the result might involve a little smoke.

Another Electric Super Car – Lightning GT

While the Tesla was probably the first electric supercar, hot on its heels we have Britain's Lightning GT with its own impressive numbers.  It sports 700 hp, does 0-60 mph in about 4 seconds, goes 250 miles on a charge, and can fully recharge in about 10 minutes (given the right recharging station).  The battery lifetime expectancy is 12 -15 years, with 15,000 charges.  The new battery technology, Nanosafe's Li-ion cells using nano titanate structures instead of traditional graphite, may prove to be just as super as the car itself is.

With this kind of technology, you could pull in at a charge pump and "fill up" about as quick as a typical gas pump does now.  So, I guess that makes an electric supercar more practical than ever.

The MagicWheel – A Skateboard of a Different Sort

It could probably be best described as a unicycle with no seat or pedals, the Magic Wheel is definetely not what you are used to seeing in parks.  To ride, you put one foot on either side of the wheel on the platforms provided, and kick with the other.  Given the low center of balance you have while riding it should be fairly stable, at least while both feet are planted. The unit does feature a handy built in carrying handle  at the top, something that I think I would use fairly often.

Walkie Talkie Watches

I guess it is just the kid still inside of me, but I think a watch that is a communcations device is cool.   Now, these watches are not exactly extreme high tech, but they do offer 1.5 mile range, VOX, auto power off, and optional earphone use.  If you are not afraid of looking too nerdy you might find them handy, especially at public events or large outdoor areas.  Gizoo is carrying the watches, which will set you back about $65.  Something like this will just have to do until the Dick Tracy version comes out.
