These dumbbells may force a name change to smartbells, if they make it into production. The concept weights by Sang-Hoon Lee feature an adjustable weight, and by simply using the controls the weights get heavier, complete with digital readout.
How do the weights work? By spinning small balls that are contained within the body of the weight. The faster the balls spin, the heavier the overall weight affect is. The smart dumbbells are all self contained, eliminating the need for extra weight attachments. This makes storage and travel much easier. Of course, you do need to add in the bulk of the charger, but in comparison to weights this should not be a problem. These are the coolest dumbbells I think I have ever seen.
