Imagine really wanting to sleep, but in order to do so you have to take a small laser gun and shoot a tiny target across the room. By the time you develop the cognitive capacity to do so you are probably awake, or at least that is the concept that the makers of the Laser Target Alarm Clock probably had in mind.
The Laser Target Alarm uses a laser led mounted in a phaser looking remote as the means to the end, and this morning test of alertness and comprehension will cost you about $20 from ThinkGeek Electronics. For those of us who wear glasses (but hopefully not to bed) this might be a bit more challenging than is deserving.
