Moog Infinite Sustain Guitar To Be Released Soon

moogGuitar_061108If you hear the name Moog, you will probably think of electronic synthesizers. And for good reason, since Bob Moog virtually revolutionized the industry starting back in the 70's. But soon the name Moog may conjure up a new image – that of the Infinite Sustain Moog Guitar.

The Moog Guitar Paul Vo Edition is not a midi connected electronic guitar. Rather, it is a real guitar that you plug into your favorite amp rack and go at it. The secret to the infinite sustain has to do with the proprietary strings that have a specific metallurgy, which are  designed to work with the specially designed Moog pickups.

The guitar has other modes as well, such as a muted mode that sounds like a dampened guitar string right after the strum, and a harmonic blend that allows you to use a foot pedal to combine the mute and sustain effects for cool technical effects.

The video shows some pretty famous guitar players taking a turn on the Moog Guitar, and the response (at least the ones in the video) all have the same response – I want one.

The guitar is a serious musical instrument, and the price reflects this at $6,495.  The Moog Infinite Sustain Guitar is planned to be available in September in a variety of colors.
